DELTA’S 31ST ANNIVERSARY: ADC GUBER FLAGBEARER SHARES LIGHTS ON GREENER PASTURES IN DAYS TO COME.

Today, we are celebrating the victory of the war fought not on the battlefields, but with courage and solidarity. I here with this, salute Deltans on the joy of today which goes down in history as a recollection of a day of liberation for us all, even though we still plop our fate in our hands and determine the place of a great future, which is to come.

This contention is an exaggeration, for our state’s journey since 1991 has been marked by heady expectations and dashed dreams; by steps forward followed frustratingly by steps- backward. We have made both unavoidable and fated mistakes as a people in the course of our challenging voyage to statehood. We have however learned crucial lessons through bitter experiences along the way.

We must remember that we have to savor the sweetness of our costly victory, as we soberly reflect on the journey so far. Whereas from the indices of development, our state is not near a pushover in Nigeria, regardless, the state’s comparatively less than the desired level of development vis-a-vis our abundant human and natural resources has occasioned gloomy anniversary commentaries over the nations.

Going forward, We’ve learned that for a true democracy to be able to deliver developmental gains, the people must be placed at the center of policy formulations and must be its drivers. I am inclined to take Delta to a new age in which our main concerns will be hinged on deepening democracy and ensuring broad-based wealth for all.

As of this day, there are several great sons and daughters of Delta State, both the known and unknown who have made gigantic sacrifices to bring us to this point, at the same time, we will not fail to pay tribute to those illustrious sons and daughters of ours; patriots who expended their strengths in pursuit of a state we can all now call our own in love, dignity, and unity. We reflect on them on this day and honor them.

Moreover, it is abundantly clear that we are not yet where we want to be as a state, and we are much knowledgeable of the enormity of the distance to be covered towards achieving a functional state, which will not discourage us from taking the necessary first steps, the more reasons, today's anniversary must not merely entitle us to reflect on how far we have come but also give us insights on how far we have to/can go.

As the debate on who succeed the Delta State Governor comes 2023 gathers momentum, it is no longer news that I am the Youngest and the Candidate of the African Democratic Party, ADC, and the issue-based mandate is designed to challenge Deltans to bring out the ingenuity in them, bringing on their God-given endowment of creativity and innovations in facilitating and making a huge turnaround in our sojourn to economic emancipation.

I am positive about Delta State, I know things we change from better to best, when I must have taken the mantle of leadership by 2023, Delta will experience a mega transformation in the areas of technology and Agriculture, for I am quite convinced that we have what it takes to change our story of insufficiency and want to the surplus economy for all, and Happily enough, I have made myself usable to captain a new Delta to a safe shore.

I AM NOT A SAINT, BUT I AM PROMISING EVERY DELTAN, THE GREENER PASTURES DAYS THAT IS COME, WHEN BECOME THE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE BY 2023.
I HEREWITH, SAY HAPPY 26TH ANNIVERSARY TO ALL DELTANS.
